Sumner Wound Care

Healogics Center of DistinctionSumner Wound Care is a recipient of the 2018 Healogics Center of Distinction Award!

When a wound from an accident, disease or infection isn’t healing properly, proper wound care can save life and limb.

Five million Americans will suffer from chronic wounds this year, with circulation problems and diabetes being the most common culprits of these injuries. Because of the remarkable need for wound care treatment, Sumner Regional Medical Center created the Sumner Wound Care Center to serve our community's needs.

While wound care is a relatively new field of medicine, it is a much-needed program that is quickly gaining ground. SRMC's program has seen patients come for treatment from as far away as Cookeville and Ashland City. General Surgeon Brandon Mewbourne, MD, serves as medical director of the program.

Sumner Wound Care is made up of a team of professionals that includes:

  • Physicians and surgeons with advanced training in wound management
  • Nursing staff trained in the care of chronic wounds
  • Certified technicians who perform various studies and therapies
  • Experienced staff to assist with appointments, obtaining referrals from your physician and health insurance processing
